I've found a couple of power supplies that convert 220v to 5v ( such as one of these) but they won't charge the batteries in the pack, they will just straight power the device from the electricity. It'd like to completely remove the Japanese transformer on the inside and switch in a transformer that would accept Australian voltages (220-240). I'd like to do something similar but I want to keep it original. Despite the one model number, the Game Boy came in a handful of different models over the years, with subtle differences to. I recently saw a video where someone took a Japanese battery pack and modded it with a European transformer. The issue is that I can't charge the battery pack because I live in Australia and we have different voltage to what Japan does. The battery pack still amazingly holds charge and I was able to power the Game Boy just fine without any batteries in it. ![]() I recently picked up a set from Japan that came with an original Game Boy (DMG-01), the original rechargeable battery pack (DMG-03) and the original earphones. ![]()
